About Qb4
An organisation dedicated to chess in Belgium
Qb4 is an association dedicated to the development and promotion of chess in Belgium and internationally. Through the organisation of tournaments, chess lessons, courses and educational initiatives, the association works to make the game of chess more visible, more accessible and more inclusive.
Our mission is to help promote chess by offering high-quality events, training courses suitable for all levels, and projects designed to make the sport accessible to an ever-wider audience.
Promoting chess to people of all ages
We aim to promote access to chess for everyone, and in particular for those groups that remain under-represented in the chess world. We are therefore developing specific initiatives to support young players, women, senior citizens and people who are not currently involved in chess.
One of our key aims is to increase women’s participation in chess tournaments and activities, whilst promoting diversity and inclusion within the chess community.
Organise chess tournaments
We regularly organise chess tournaments in Belgium open to players of all levels. These competitions allow participants to compete in a structured and professional setting. The tournaments organised by Qb4 aim to provide an accessible, friendly and fair competitive experience, whilst rewarding players’ performance with attractive prizes.
Qb4 is also the main organiser of the Luc Winants Tournament, an event dedicated to the memory of the Belgian chess grandmaster Luc Winants. This tournament pays tribute to one of the leading figures in Belgian chess and helps to keep his legacy alive within the chess community. Every year, it brings together passionate players for a high-level competition and a chance to share in the enjoyment of the game of chess.
Offer training courses to help people learn and develop
We offer chess lessons and chess courses for children, teenagers and adults. These courses enable participants to learn the rules of the game, understand strategy, analyse games and improve their skills within a structured environment.
The aim is to enable everyone to discover the game of chess, improve their skills and develop their strategic thinking.
