Become a volunteer at Qb4
Qb4’s activities rely in part on the involvement of volunteers who wish to contribute to the development and promotion of chess .
Whether you’re a chess enthusiast, an amateur player or simply interested in the world of chess, your support can help to keep the community thriving and to support the projects run by the association.
Get involved in our association’s activities
Qb4 regularly organises various chess-related activities: tournaments, lessons, courses and events to promote the game. Volunteers play a key role in ensuring these initiatives run smoothly.
Depending on your availability and the logistical requirements of the events, you may be asked to take part in various tasks.
Assistance with organising tournaments
During chess tournaments, volunteers can help with various aspects of the organisation to ensure the competition runs smoothly. In particular, they can help with welcoming players, guiding participants, managing the playing areas or providing logistical support during the event.
Their presence helps to streamline the overall organisation of the tournament and provide players and visitors with a pleasant and well-organised environment.
Support for chess lessons and courses
Volunteers can also help organise chess lessons and courses, for example by welcoming participants, preparing the venues or providing logistical support for the activities.
In some cases, experienced volunteers may be involved in educational support as trainers.
Taking part in special events
Qb4 also organises one-off events and chess promotion initiatives, including team-building activities, introductory workshops and events designed to introduce the game to new audiences.
Volunteers can help with preparations, welcoming participants and ensuring these activities run smoothly, by assisting with the organisation and coordination of events.
Become a trainer
Certain educational activities, in particular chess lessons and courses, require the involvement of qualified instructors.
To ensure high-quality supervision, staff must:
- accredited by FIDE, or
- professional players with proven experience in the field of chess.
These requirements ensure that the teaching is tailored to the participants’ different levels.
If you wish, we can also direct you to suitable training courses approved by the International Federation.
