Chess activities for all ages
Qb4’s activities are aimed at anyone interested in chess. Our aim is to make chess accessible to as many people as possible and to enable everyone to discover, learn and play the game in a structured, friendly and supportive environment.
Events open to players of all levels
Qb4’s activities are aimed at players of all levels, whether they are beginners, intermediate players or experienced competitors.
Chess lessons enable you to learn the basics of the game and improve your strategy. Courses offer a more intensive immersion to help you progress quickly. Chess tournaments, meanwhile, allow you to compete against other players in a structured and competitive setting. Everyone can therefore find an activity suited to their goals and level.
A particular focus on under-represented groups
Whilst our activities are open to everyone, Qb4 places particular emphasis on groups that are still under-represented in the world of chess. Our aim is to foster a chess community that is more diverse, more inclusive and more open, by giving everyone the opportunity to find their place in the world of chess.
Young players
Young people are a key demographic for the future of chess. Through our chess lessons, our courses and our educational activities, we help children and teenagers to discover the game.
Chess helps to develop concentration, memory, logical thinking and the ability to anticipate. It is also an excellent educational tool, promoting strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
Women
The world of chess remains predominantly male to this day. Qb4 aims to help increase women’s participation in chess activities.
We encourage female participation in tournaments, chess lessons and courses, and support initiatives aimed at promoting the game of chess among female players.
Older people
Chess is an activity particularly well suited to senior citizens. This strategy game stimulates memory, thinking and concentration whilst encouraging social interaction.
Through our events, training courses and visits to various organisations, we encourage people to play chess as an intellectual and social activity, accessible to people of all ages.
Initiatives for institutions, schools and organisations
Qb4 also works with various institutions wishing to incorporate chess into their educational, social and cultural projects. We offer workshops and training courses in schools, care homes, hospitals, prisons, businesses and other organisations. These initiatives help introduce chess to new audiences.
